Period-
Worked as Eye Specialist in Civil Hospitals
of Dhuburi (1981-1983), Barpeta
(1983-1986),Nagaon (1986-87) and Jorhat (1987-2000). Voluntarily retired in
2005
Started Chandra Prabha Eye Hospital at Jorhat
in 2005. It is a tertiary care eye hospital with specialities in Cataract,
Cornea, Glaucoma, Retina & Vitreous, Oculoplasty, Refractive Surgery and Peadiatric Ophtalmology. The hospital
boasts of having all sophisticated and modern eye care instruments as in any
other super specialty eye hospital in the world.
It imparts training to eye surgeon on
Phaco emulsification Cataract Surgery. So far, 56 eye surgeons from all over
India, including one from Cambodia have successfully been trained here. The hospital also provides one year Fellowship
on Cataract & Anterior Segment and every year two fellows join the course.
Ridely
College Of Optometry which imparts four year BSc Optometry Degree Course and Nayani
School Of Ophthalmic Nursing Assistants are two institutes attached to the
hospital. The hospital also houses the Jeuti Eye Bank- the most
famous eye bank in North East India.
Community
service
The
hospital renders huge community service by providing free phaco emulsification
surgery to the people of below poverty line. During the last two years it has
operated 3400 such patients of Majuli Island alone.
Present Position
Dr
Bardoloi presently holds the post of Medical Director of Chandra Prabha Eye
Hospital and Jeuti Eye Bank and Principal of Ridley College of Optometry.

Bardoloi is the life member of All India Ophthalmological Society and Ophthalmic
Sociey of Assam. He is also a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology
(AAO), American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeon (ACRS) and
International Society of Refractive Surgeons (ISRS)

Innovations.
Dr
Bardoloi has developed three innovative techniques in phacoemulsification
surgery which have been acclaimed worldwide.
His first innovative technique called
‘Phacoemulsification without Hydroprocedure ‘ was first presented in
ASCRS conference at Boston in 2010. Later he demonstrated the technique by doing live surgery in Delhi
Ophthalmological Society Meeting in 2010, Disha Eye Hospital , Kolkata in 2010,
Shushrut Eye Hospital, Kolkata in 2011 and 2012 and in Vasan Eye Hospital in
Chennain in 2012.
His

Jeuti- a NGO in 1999 with the help of his class mates of Jorhat Govt
School which later created Jeuti Eye Bank in 2002.
Largely instrumental in creating Eye Donation Movement in Assam. Served as member of the Executive Committee
of Eye Bank Association of India for the term 2006-2008
Book
writing
Dr
Bardoloi is a fervent sports lover and himself represented Assam Medical
College, Dibrugarh in Cricket and Foot ball. He witnessed Olympic Games in
London in 2012. On the basis of this experience he wrote an Assamese book named-‘London Olympic sowar abhigyata’. In 1992 he wrote and published his first
book, named ‘Olympic’ . This is the first and only book to be written in
Assamese on Olympics.
